Fort Worth Botanic Garden presents Sean Kenney’s Nature Connects Made with LEGO® Bricks

Throughout the summer months, Fort Worth Botanic Garden always provides fun adventures for the whole family – whether touring the public gardens or attending special events, it is a wonderful way to get out of the house and enjoy the beauty in nature.
This summer, the Botanic Garden hosts Sean Kenney’s Nature Connects Made with LEGO® Bricks. This award-winning and record-breaking exhibition that uses beautiful works of art made from simple toy blocks to explore animal endangerment, the balance of ecosystems, and humanity’s relationship with nature. Dickies Arena hosts U.S. Gymnastics Championships
June 3-6, 2021
For the first time ever, Cowtown welcomes hopeful American gymnasts to compete for the final team headed to Tokyo. This event will also feature world class Olympic athletes such as Simone Biles, Laurie Hernandez, and others as they compete ahead of the Olympic Trials. Whether you are a faithful follower of the Summer Olympics or intrigued by the artful athleticism displayed in Gymnastics, you will not want to miss this event! A Needle Art Love Story at the Ball-Eddleman-McFarland House, Chapter VIII
June 10 – 13, 2021
Do you love art and historic house architecture? If your answer is yes, then this event is for you! Join Historic Fort Worth’s immersive exhibit of artistic needlepoint and cross-stitch pieces on display. Fondly described as ‘like painting with a needle’, the event has featured over 552 stitchers and contained more than 5,218 pieces on display from private collections. These artisans, some from across the state, create elaborate needlepoint pieces for every holiday, occasion, and reason.
The Party with the Stitchers will honor HFW’s first Featured Stitcher, Judy Schell. Judy has stitched for decades, and she initiated a friendship group that meets monthly to stitch and lunch. 25 years later, the group is still gathering! Father’s Day Cookout at Fort Worth Zoo
June 18, 2021 at 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM
Let Dad know there’s no ‘otter’ one like him! The Fort Worth Zoo will be hosting this first-ever event to celebrate the dads in your life! It will include an exclusive after-hours Father’s Day Cookout, a meet-and-greet with the Zoo’s outreach animals, open attractions and habitats in Texas Wild!, such as the Wild West Shooting Gallery and the Toyota Shooting Gallery and the Toyota Children’s Ranch and Petting Corral. The 2021 Juneteenth FTW Community Festival
June 19, 2021 at 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Visit Panther Island Pavilion to celebrate and support Juneteenth Community Festival! The event is a powerful platform for sponsors and vendors to express their support for the value, culture, and tradition of an important event in American History. The festival start time is 3 pm and will end at 9 pm with a spectacular firework show. Come out a join an evening full of fun, food, music, and culture!
Kids under 10 get in FREE and will have access to the Kids’ Zone

Gretta Hendricks is a multidisciplinary creative who has been a chocolatier, baker, birth-doula, performance artist, and freelance writer, although her favorite job to-date has been becoming a first-time mama to her beautiful rainbow baby, Ofelia, born in January of 2020. Gretta has enjoyed writing for as long as she can remember and is passionately interested in the ways she can both learn and share from the art of storytelling. Alongside her husband and daughter, she loves living in and exploring Fort Worth as well as pouring into her church and local community.
