Art Tales Returns to the Carter
Wednesday, June 7, kicks off Art Tales at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art (the Carter), our annual free summer event for kids and their grown-ups.
Join us every Wednesday in June and July for family friendly story time fun. From 10 a.m. to noon, play gallery games, listen to stories, create artwork, and enjoy performances inspired by artworks in the Carter’s collection. Art Tales is an event designed for children of all ages. Each Wednesday features new stories and activities, so mark your calendars for Art Tales at the Carter!

Who are your people? Celebrate your loved ones and enjoy a morning full of stories, gallery games, art making, and a performance by Nancy and Her Friends inspired by family-filled Carter artworks. In addition, Frios Gourmet Pops will be selling popsicles on the Porch.
Nancy Burks Worcester is a ventriloquist and public speaker, having performed in nearly every state, delighting audiences from coast to coast.

Hey, whatcha thinkin’ about? Let your imagination wander as you enjoy a morning full of stories, gallery games, art making, and a performance by storyteller Toni Simmons inspired by dreamy Carter artworks.
Toni Simmons is an author and storyteller who brings new life to stories through the use of rhythm, songs, and audience participation. Toni has conducted storytelling, as well as creative dramatic and movement workshops, in schools, community centers, and theaters, and has worked with teachers helping them to incorporate the arts into their curricula.

And-a one, and-a two! Put on your dancing shoes, warm up your singing voice, and enjoy a morning full of stories, gallery games, art making, and a performance by musician D a n o inspired by musical Carter artworks.
D a n o is a singer, songwriter, musician, DJ, entertainer, and performer. D a n o has performed for schools, libraries, festivals, and community events throughout Dallas/Fort Worth.

How are you feeling today? Whether happy, sad, silly, or somewhere in between, join us for a morning full of stories, gallery games, art making, and a musical performance by The Juicebox Jukebox inspired by Carter artworks with big feelings.
The Juicebox Jukebox was created by Dallas based singer/songwriter and father of three Bradley James Skistimas. Their mission is to enrich children’s lives through fun, positive, and educational music and videos that parents and teachers can enjoy, too.

Hoot! Screech! Roar! Stampede to the Carter for a morning full of stories, gallery games, art making, and a special animal guest performance from The Creature Teacher inspired by Carter artworks with furry and feathered friends.
The Creature Teacher teaches children while also allowing them to experience nature firsthand. As both current and former educators, their staff shares a passion for teaching students of all ages.

Take heart! Let’s go on an adventure together. Join us for a morning full of stories, gallery games, art making, and yoga sessions with Sherry Abbasi inspired by adventurous Carter artworks. Yoga sessions will take place in the Atrium at 10:30 a.m., 11 a.m., and 11:30 a.m.
Sherry Abbasi is an artist and museum educator. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Art Education and earned her Yoga Certification in Social Emotional and Trauma Informed Yoga in the Classroom.

Blocks, bricks, sticks, and more! It’s time to build something special! Join us for a morning full of stories, gallery games, art making, and a musical performance by Emmy Award-winning musician David Chicken inspired by sculptures in the Carter’s collection.
David Chicken is a three-time Emmy Award-winning musician who has performed his songs around the world. He is known for his high-energy, interactive performances filled with lots of movement, educational messages, and fun.

Nature is filled with textures, colors, scents, and mysteries to explore. Join us for a morning full of stories, gallery games, art making, and sensory play with special guest Out to Play inspired by landscapes in the Carter’s collection. In addition, Frios Gourmet Pops will be selling popsicles on the Porch.
Out to Play is a nonprofit organization committed to bringing free open-ended play opportunities to under-resourced communities and play deserts in DFW.
