Barbecue and Music – A Match Made in Heaven

The Fort Worth Stock Show Syndicate (FWSSS) will host the first annual Syndicate Smokedown at the North Shore at Panther Island Pavilion on Saturday, April 30. Syndicate Smokedown is a music festival and BBQ competition consisting of a full day of barbeque, drinks and live music.

This event, which is sponsored by Standard Meat, D&M Leasing, Texas A&M University and Freedom Power Sports, will benefit the FWSSS’s mission to make the dreams of young livestock exhibitors come true through the Jim Bob Norman Scholarship fund.

Over the years, the scholarship fund has distributed more than $2.5 million in scholarship grants to youth exhibitors at the Fort Worth Stock Show. Additionally, since its founding in 1980, the FWSSS has purchased over 9.300 animals for more than $70 million, including a record $6.125 million in 2022.

Syndicate Smokedown’s BBQ competition is an International Barbeque Cookers Association
(IBCA) sanctioned competition. The event will kick off at noon when Texas’ top self-proclaimed BBQ pitmasters compete for prizes from a $12,000 prize purse. Live music throughout the day will feature performances by Kyle Park, Cory Morrow, Josh Grider & Drew Kennedy of Topo Chico Cowboys, The Randy Brown Show, Lauren Corzine, and Raised Right Men.

All proceeds from Syndicate Smokedown ticket purchases will go directly to the Fort Worth Stock Show Syndicate (FWSSS) and benefit the Jim Bob Norman Scholarship Fund. Three ticket options are available:
