Camp Fire First Texas Welcomes Jenny Wester as CPO
Camp Fire First Texas has appointed Jenny Wester as its new Chief Program Officer, a key strategic leadership position created to advance the organization’s 2026–2029 Strategic Plan and strengthen alignment across all program areas.
As Chief Program Officer, Wester will serve on the Executive Leadership Team and provide strategic oversight for Camp Fire First Texas’ youth development, outdoor connection, and early education workforce development programs. The role reflects the organization’s commitment to a more unified program model that increases collaboration, enhances participant experiences, and maximizes community impact.
Wester joined Camp Fire First Texas in August 2022 as Vice President of Youth Development. Over the past three years, she has led significant growth and innovation across the organization’s youth development programs, including afterschool programs, summer day camps, and Camp Fire Teens in Action®. Under her leadership, programs have expanded while maintaining a strong focus on quality outcomes, participant engagement, and positive experiences for young people and families.

The Chief Program Officer position was established to strengthen organizational alignment and support one of Camp Fire First Texas’ primary strategic priorities: creating an integrated program model that connects youth development, outdoor connection, and early education workforce development. By bringing all program areas under a unified executive leader, the organization aims to enhance collaboration, improve operational effectiveness, and create a more seamless experience for participants and families.
The promotion supports Camp Fire First Texas’ 2026–2029 Strategic Plan, which calls for greater integration across program areas, enhanced organizational effectiveness, and a unified approach to delivering life-changing experiences for youth and families. As Chief Program Officer, Wester will lead efforts to align programs, strengthen collaboration among teams, and ensure consistent quality and impact across all service areas.

Wester brings more than a decade of executive leadership experience in youth development, customer experience, nonprofit operations, and organizational growth. Prior to joining Camp Fire, she served as Vice President of Product Program, Retail and Customer Experience for Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains, where she directed multi-department operations responsible for generating more than 75 percent of the council’s operating budget and managed departmental budgets exceeding $10 million. She also held leadership roles in program operations, entrepreneurship education, and organizational strategy.
Throughout her career, Wester has built a reputation for developing high-performing teams, leading complex multi-site operations, and creating innovative solutions that improve participant experiences and organizational sustainability. Her expertise includes strategic planning, financial forecasting, program evaluation, staff development, compliance oversight, and community partnership building.
Wester holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship from the University of North Texas. She is actively involved in the community through Leadership Fort Worth, the MHMR Community Action Committees, the Women’s Policy Forum of Tarrant County, and Directors of Volunteers in Agencies (DOVIA) Tarrant County, where she previously served as president.
