Experience the World of Orchids
Orchids have a reputation for being exquisitely delicate, achingly rare, and utterly impossible to grow.
In fact, nothing could be further from the truth. Orchids are one of the largest families of flowering plants, with species found on every continent except Antarctica, from above the Artic circle to the southernmost tip of South America. They include everything from the incredibly rare Hawaiian bog orchid to the phalaenopis orchids that you see in every grocery story floral department to the humble yet delicious vanilla orchid. Yep. Vanilla comes from the fruit of an orchid.
Now you can experience the stunning and exquisite beauty of the orchid world at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. In the World of Orchids, coming to the Botanic Garden’s beautiful Rainforest Conservatory February 24 – April 9, 2023, thousands of orchids of all shapes, sizes, and colors are arranged in breathtaking displays. You can learn about their habitats and learn how to grow them in your own home.u
