Girls Inc. of Tarrant County Celebrates Day of the Girl
Hundreds of girls and community members gathered at Texas Wesleyan University on Saturday, Oct. 4, for Girls Inc. of Tarrant County’s annual Day of the Girl celebration.
The free, family-friendly event brought together girls from across Tarrant County to celebrate their potential, showcase their talents and connect with a community deeply invested in their success.
From the energizing local high school drum lines to the powerful voices of girls leading the noon rally, the event demonstrated what happens when young women are supported, believed in and given the platform to shine.
“The energy was electric,” said Jennifer Limas, President and CEO of Girls Inc. of Tarrant County. “We saw hundreds of girls who are strong, smart, bold, resilient, curious, collaborative and compassionate, and a community that showed up to cheer them on. This is what it looks like when we invest in the next generation of leaders.”

The celebration featured “The DNA of a Girls Inc. Girl” rally, highlighting the character traits the organization nurtures daily: Respect, confidence, emotional intelligence, kindness, critical thinking and self-advocacy. Girls took center stage, demonstrating the leadership skills and self-assurance developed through the organization’s signature programs.
A highlight of this year’s event was the debut of the EmpowerHER Market, which brought together youth entrepreneurs from the organization’s summer camp alongside local small businesses. Attendees shopped handcrafted goods, supported emerging businesswomen and witnessed firsthand the entrepreneurial spirit the organization cultivates in young girls.
The market exemplified the organization’s commitment to preparing girls not just for college and career, but for leadership in every aspect of their lives, including economic empowerment and business ownership.
This year marked the first time the celebration was held on a Saturday, creating a more accessible, family-friendly atmosphere and allowing more community members to participate in honoring the potential of local girls.
Girls Inc. of Tarrant County extends deep gratitude to the sponsors whose support made this inspiring event possible:

“This event is a testament to what our community can accomplish when we come together with a shared commitment to girls,” Limas added. “We are grateful to Texas Wesleyan University for being a gracious host site, Mindful Market for collaboration of the marketplace, our sponsors, volunteers and every person who showed up to celebrate these remarkable young women.”
