Honoring and Remembering at the Botanic Garden
Experience a vibrant celebration of culture and memories at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden’s “Honoring and Remembering: Day of the Dead” event on October 27, 2024.
Join us from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. (last entry at 4 p.m.) for free entry and immerse yourself in the rich traditions of this cherished Mexican holiday.
Event Highlights:
Spectacular Flower Cascade: Marvel at the stunning cascade of thousands of marigolds that descend down the stairs in FWBG’s iconic Rose Garden.
Traditional Altar and Offerings: Join us to celebrate and honor the lives of your loved ones who have passed.
Artisan Catrinas and Skull: View the impressive giant Catrinas and Skull crafted by artisans from the Feria del Alfeñique in Toluca, Mexico, Fort Worth’s sister city.
Authentic Mexican Cuisine: Savor a selection of Mexican street food and authentic Mexican Pan de Muerto.
Live Performances: Enjoy live music and dance performances throughout the day, including the Abuelitos Unidos de Wise Country– Ballet Folklorico, dancers ages 70 to 85, who will delight the audience with traditional dances and music with traditional costumes.
Catrinas Procession: Witness live Catrinas dressed in exquisite costumes, head pieces, accessories and makeup with artistic flair and attention to detail.
4 PM Procession: Bring a photo of your loved one; participants receive a commemorative candle.
5 PM Blessing: Join us at the end of the procession for a special blessing that will be imparted with Mariachi accompaniment.

Admission to the Garden is free from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
