Losing a child is every parent’s greatest heartbreak. Whether your child was a newborn, a teenager, or an adult, the grief of burying your son or daughter is a road no parent should walk alone. That’s why Hope Unshakeable, a 9-week support group for moms of child loss, was created.*

Beginning October 2, our group meets weekly as a safe and compassionate space for mothers who carry this deep loss. Together, we find strength in shared stories, encouragement in God’s promises, and comfort in knowing that we are not alone.

Each week is a reminder that our children’s lives matter, and so do we. We reflect on the hope that God gives us when He says, “Take courage, and you will prosper.” We persevere together, standing shoulder to shoulder in Christ, lifting one another up.

The group is led by Nancy Medford, Drew’s mom, and Ann Anderson, Holley’s mom. Several years ago, Nancy attended a Zoom Hope Unshakeable group and, during a weekly walk with Ann, shared how encouraging it was to be with other parents who understood. Ann suggested they begin leading a group together. Ann reflects, “When my daughter died, I had so many people come alongside me. I can’t imagine not having that. In the groups, we get to know each other’s kids and love them and remember them together.”

This group is more than support—it’s a time of retreat, renewal, and connection with others who understand your heart. We believe there is still purpose in life, a calling that never fades, and a reason to never give up.

Michelle’s Story

Over forty years ago, Michelle lost her first child in infancy. For decades she carried that grief alone. When she joined Hope Unshakeable, she finally found a safe place to share her story and her grief. “I had no idea how badly I needed this group,” she said.

Building on stories like Michelle’s, this fall our group will focus on The Hope of Heaven—a reminder that even in the hardest places, God gives us courage, purpose, and hope.
