The 2024-2025 season features exciting programming and world class artists. You will not want to miss performances by two quartets new to the CMSFW stage. The Balourdet Quartet performs on September 14, 2024, and Marmen Quartet will be here on March 15, 2025. Among audience favorites returning to the CMSFW stage are the Dover Quartet and the Busch Trio, as well as violists Milena Pajaro-van de Stadt and Michael Klotz.
The first stop on the Journey Through Textural Colors is the Balourdet Quartet on September 14. This ensemble performs with charisma and precision works of Haydn, Bartók, and Smetana. A perfect beginning to the new season.
Named one of the greatest string quartets of the last 100 years by BBC Music Magazine, the Dover Quartet revisits CMSFW with its “Tate Commission” on October 19. The concert will feature the premiere of a string quartet work by Jerod Impichchaachaaha’ Tate. A world premiere not to be missed.
The 2024-25 season also includes the return of the Busch Trio, three guys who have been friends for years and share a passion for chamber music. On February 1, 2025, Omri Epstein, piano; Mathieu van Bellen, violin; and Ori Epstein, cello — will be joined by Gary Levinson, violin, and friends to perform old favorites (Beethoven and Franck) and a new work to be announced.
Another ensemble on the journey is the Marmen Quartet, making their first ever performance before the CMSFW audience. They are first prize winners for both the Banff and Bordeaux International String Quartet Competitions in 2019 and the Royal Overseas League Competition in 2018. They will be performing works by Haydn, Bartók and Debussy.
Returning pianists Anton Nel, Alessandro Deljavan, and Baya Kakouberi perform in separate ensemble concerts during the season.
