United Way of Tarrant County Names Interim CEO
This article was written by Steve Bibb, Board Chair of the United Way of Tarrant County.
Last week, United Way of Tarrant County announced the resignation of its president and CEO, Leah M. King, effective October 23, when she leaves to take a position as president of the JPS Foundation. Appointing someone as interim CEO became an immediate priority for the UWTC executive committee of the Board of Directors, of which I serve as chair.
I am pleased to share that we have selected Regina R. Williams, LMSW, to serve as interim CEO upon Leah’s departure in late October.
As EVP and Chief Impact Officer since 2023, Regina has led the strategic investment of UWTC’s financial and non-financial resources to improve outcomes for the individuals and families we serve. She brings vast experience in strategic planning, program development and management, with capable, effective leadership. She joined UWTC in 2018 as vice president of community investment and regional director of UWTC-Greater Arlington. Prior to coming to UWTC, Regina was a social worker and grant and community partnership manager at Fort Worth’s historic Dunbar High School.
The executive committee of the UWTC board feels fortunate that we have a deep bench of knowledge and experience on the UWTC leadership team to provide continuity of work while the board conducts its search for the organization’s next president and CEO.
On behalf of the United Way of Tarrant County Board of Directors, please join me in congratulating Regina as she prepares to take on this new role. I ask that you continue your support of the organization and the important work the United Way team accomplishes to make an impact with our neighbors across Tarrant County.
