Visit Fort Worth Celebrates Tourism Growth & Impact
Visit Fort Worth celebrated record-breaking tourism impact and honored key contributors to the city’s hospitality industry at its sold-out Annual Meeting held today at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
Tourism Updates
The hospitality industry supported over 30,000 jobs in 2024 and had an economic impact of over $3.5 billion, according to a study announced at Visit Fort Worth’s Annual Meeting, presented by Pinnacle Bank. In 2024, Fort Worth welcomed 11.5 million visitors, generating $251 million in state and local taxes. Without these funds, each Fort Worth household would need to pay an additional $750 in property taxes to maintain current service levels. Over the past four years, tax revenues generated by tourism have increased 47%, reinforcing the importance of the visitor economy.
“Tourism is a team effort so it’s important we thank the community for their support,” said Susan Alanis, chairman of the Visit Fort Worth Board of Directors. “The Annual Meeting is a pep rally for the city.”
Hospitality Award
The Hospitality Award, sponsored by Kelly Hart and Hallman, was presented to civic and business leader Pam Minick in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the community. Notable Fort Worth leaders, including Kadee Coffman, City Councilwoman and Mayor Pro Tem Gyna Bivens, Rosa Navejar, Stacie McDavid and Rosie Moncrief, reflected on Minick’s decades-long dedication to the community, highlighting her work with Speedway Children’s Charities, Friends of the Fort Worth Herd, Super Bowl Committee and the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame. A trailblazer in broadcast journalism, Minick was the first woman to participate in a Pro Rodeo broadcast, paving the way for future generations of women in the industry. Pam also received a special video tribute from Reba McEntire congratulating her on her success in everything she has done for the city of Fort Worth, Texas and beyond. Pam Minick has played an instrumental role in promoting the city and its western heritage, cementing her legacy as a Fort Worth legend.
“Pam Minick has had an impact in sports, music and civic pride. We are honored by our friendship and the opportunity to celebrate her many contributions to Fort Worth hospitality,” said Bob Jameson, president and CEO of Visit Fort Worth.
Beyond Award
The Beyond Award, sponsored by the University of North Texas Health Science Center, recognizes front-line hospitality professionals who go above and beyond for visitors. This year’s recipient, Rabih Hamwi of CTS Transportation, was honored for his exceptional service in welcoming guests to Fort Worth from the moment they arrive at DFW Airport. Known for his warm demeanor, unwavering professionalism and commitment to outstanding customer service, Hamwi exemplifies the true spirit of Fort Worth hospitality.
Keynote Speaker
Sponsored by The Shops at Clearfork, this year’s keynote speaker, Jordan Rogers, a former Nike brand executive, inspired attendees with his journey from overcoming adversity to leading global brand marketing for Nike Basketball. Rogers emphasized the power of storytelling in marketing and the importance of fostering emotional connections with consumers.
Special Guest: Kevin Frazier
Kevin Frazier, co-host of Entertainment Tonight, joined the event fresh off his exclusive interview with Beyoncé following her Grammy win for Album of the Year. Frazier shared insights into his latest venture, SEPI Travel, which connects travelers with cultural heritage experiences. Fort Worth is among the first cities, alongside New York City, to partner with SEPI, highlighting Black-owned restaurants, bars, hotels, shops and sites as must-visit destinations.
Limited Edition Merchandise for a Cause
Attendees had the opportunity to purchase limited-edition merch by Dickies, printed by Printed Threads, with all proceeds benefiting Southern Smoke, a nonprofit dedicated to providing financial assistance to food and beverage industry workers in Fort Worth.
