Well folks, it’s that time again. Time to get your kids’ summer activities lined up and as usual Tanglewood Moms is here to help. We have compiled a list of Summer Camps covering a wide array of dates and activities. You’re guaranteed to find something here for all our kids no matter their age or interests.
Fort Worth Zoo:
Zoo Camp provides kids ages 3 to 10 an opportunity to explore the Zoo and learn about animals in a fun, structured environment. The zoo connects kids to wildlife through meaningful and memorable experiences in the Zoo and in the outdoors. Zoo Camp provides a community where campers can make new friends, grow in confidence, connect with wildlife and play outside. Campers will spend an action-packed week exploring the Zoo with other campers and counselors! They’ll get up-close and personal with activities like feeding giraffes, touching stingrays and meeting animals at Base Camp! When they aren’t hiking across the Zoo, campers will be unleashing their imaginations and discovering the world around them! SIGN UP
Fort Wonder Camps:
Fort Wonder Summer Camps at Fort Worth County Day help campers access their sense of wonder and create lifelong memories through a world of academic, fine arts, & athletic activities! During Wonderweek Camps at Fort Wonder, campers participate in full-day educational adventures that follow a fantastic weekly narrative. Each day of camp features a variety of academic, art, and athletic activities based on that week’s special theme. Campers are divided into groups by age, and activities are tailored to be developmentally appropriate for each group. Fort Wonder Specialty Camps are weeklong, half-day programs designed to provide campers with an opportunity to engage in their favorite educational topics, or to spark new interests. Specialty Camps are hosted by FWCD faculty/staff and select educational professionals from the Fort Worth community. Texas Center for Arts + Academics:
Texas Center For Arts and Academics is offering four unique camps this summer. Art Studio is a week-long camp for ages 8 – 18. Artists work to build and strengthen their personal aesthetic through exploration with a variety of mediums. Students dive deep into 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional techniques. In the week-long Creative Arts camp, children ages 3-12 learn foundations in Dance, Music, Theater, and Visual Art. Lessons focus on technical skills, performance/presentation elements, and creativity, establishing a well-rounded understanding and appreciation of the fine arts. Dance Intensive is a week-long camp where intermediate to advanced level dancers, ages 8-18, further their creative growth and technique by training in a variety of dance styles each day. Dancers are leveled by age and ability. Finally, Music Intensive is a week-long camp where musicians aged 8-18 grow and thrive each day using the same style of curriculum used with our elite performance ensembles, Texas Boys Choir and Singing Girls of Texas. Spanish Schoolhouse:
Spanish Schoolhouse will have five offerings this summer for kids aged 3 – 8. Adventures in Time – Time-hop from eras past to the future and beyond! Campers might find themselves in prehistoric times with dinosaurs roaming the earth or in a medieval castle surrounded by knights and princesses! In this camp, the only limits are our imaginations! Rainforest Adventure – The amazing Amazon rainforest is home to millions of species of plants and animals! Explore the treasures of this exotic habitat and learn fascinating facts about its animals, birds, reptiles, and plants. Fun, Friends, Fiesta! – Festivals and fiestas are a rich part of Hispanic tradition and culture. In this camp, traditional crafts, piñatas, music, and dancing will get kids in the spirit. Every day is a celebration as they learn about fiestas of the Hispanic world. ¡A Celebrar! 3, 2, 1… Blast Off! – Go on a cosmic voyage to explore moons, planets, stars, and galaxies! Take a look inside space travel and learn about the fascinating lives of astronauts. In this camp, you’ll journey to the stars and beyond and discover the limitless universe!
Summer Games – Learn about the sports, events, and ceremonies of the summer Olympics and about the host country, Japan. Gold medal fun and games await our campers in this exciting session! SIGN UP
i9 Sports:
The i9 Sports team of West/Southwest Ft. Worth, led by Colton and Bailey Wyatt, Stephen Renteria and Thomas Langley prides itself on offering quality youth sports programs for boys and girls ages 3 – 13. No matter the program your child participates in, our #1 priority is to ensure that all families participating in i9 Sports programs throughout West/Southwest Ft. Worth have a fun, well-organized and safe experience that teaches young athletes the fundamentals of the game, healthy competition, and good sportsmanship. SummerYou at All Saints’:
No two kids are alike. She wants to read and build robots, and he wants to start a business in the morning and play soccer in the afternoon. Find their common ground here. Or find different camps in the same week to give them space from each other. With 210 camp offerings, SummerYou is a one-stop shop for parents. Falcon Sports Camps:
Falcon Sports Camps at Fort Worth Country Day feature individualized instruction and exceptional facilities to help your camper elevate their skillset in a wide variety of sports and athletic offerings. Falcon Sports Camps are hosted by Fort Worth Country Day varsity coaches and select athletic professionals from the Dallas/Fort Worth Community, giving your camper access to the finest coaching in the field. Great camper-to-coach ratios and seasoned instructors create positive, productive camp experiences for all campers, regardless of their current skill level. Fort Worth Country Day features expansive athletic facilities, including a football stadium, a newly renovated track, two gymnasiums, a varsity baseball field, a varsity softball field, a practice baseball/softball diamond, covered batting cages, four auxiliary fields, a tennis complex, a fitness center, an indoor climbing wall, a wrestling room, and an outdoor ropes course. Professional athletic trainers provide oversight of all Falcon Sports Camps, utilizing a state-of-the-art athletic training suite to tend to any physical ailments that may pop up during camp. SIGN UP
Trinity Valley School:
During the 2021 summer season, Xplore will provide participants with safe, unique, and fun learning experiences. Each year, over 750 participants, ages 3-18, attend at least one camp and many return for several weeks! We welcome students from all over the FW area and beyond. Xplore programs focus on growing active, confident, and creative young humans, and we aim to do this by offering a wide variety of camp and class topics. Participants have many opportunities to try out something new or take a deep dive into an already developing interest. Camps and classes will be held June-July 2021. Half-day and full-day camps and classes will be offered with specific times to be announced. SIGN UP
Reading Connection:
The Reading Connection (TRC) is pleased to again offer their annual summer intensive intervention sessions to students of all ages. These sessions will be individually tailored to fit each student’s needs. Each student’s curriculum may consist of reading, writing, math, and/or executive function skills. Sessions are one to two hours in length, four days a week (for a minimum of 16 days) beginning when the school year ends for your student. Weeks do not have to be consecutive, but all sessions must be completed by your school’s start date. TRC strives to make sessions work with your schedule. You may begin at any time in May, June, or July. Sessions are available at one of the TRC clinics or virtually over Zoom! SIGN UP
Game On:
Game On believes in tapping into the power of potential and is the only facility serving athletes of all ages and abilities who are committed to a mindset of growth. Game On is the largest multi-sport center in North Texas encompassing 190,000 square feet of training and competition space between Game On Arena Sports and Game On Sports Complex. Combining state-of-the-art facilities and a world-class individual performance training center, they offer a home for volleyball, basketball, baseball, football, softball and indoor soccer for teams and leagues of all ages. DBat: D-BAT’s Camps and Clinics provide a great opportunity for players to improve as players while having fun at the same time. Their Spring Break and Summer Camps are very popular with parents who are looking for something constructive to keep their ballplayers busy when school is out. The Bat Speed Clinic, which is conducted during the winter, is considered by many players to be the best camp they have ever attended. D-BAT Ft. Worth also offers College camps and clinics that are led by some of the top coaches from some of the top college programs in the country such as University of Texas, Baylor University, and others. Princess Camp and Dance Classes at Dance Connection:
Your little princess will love this magical week full of fairy tales and fun! Every princess day will include a dance class, dress-up, princess crafts, storytime, and royal “tea party” with drinks & snacks provided. A wide variety of beautiful princess costumes will be provided for dress-up and the week will end with a fashion show and grand royal ball! Each princess will receive her very own tiara & wand, various princess gifts, all princess crafts, and a “royal portrait” of herself in full princess wardrobe. SIGN UP
Camp Fire Camp El Tesoro: Kids go to camp because it’s fun. But what they find is magic in themselves and they never let it go. The wide range of activities and programs create opportunities that show each camper they can achieve whatever they set their minds to. Hiking through wooded terrain to Mt. Loma, singing songs with friends around the campfire and zip lining on the challenge course are more than just fun activities; they are moments for campers to learn and thrive.
