Gallery of Dreams Received Grant for A.I.R. Program
FORT WORKS ART is delighted to share some news – Gallery of Dreams, the arts and community nonprofit, has been awarded a substantial grant from The Arts Fund at North Texas Community Foundation.
The grant will be utilized to support the 2024 Artist in Residency Program (A.I.R) at Fort Works Art Gallery. This three-month residency, exclusively for Fort Worth artists, will kick off in July 2024, providing a dedicated space for the selected artist to create a new body of work for a solo exhibition within the following year.
Generously provided by The Arts Fund, this significant funding includes a $7,500 cash award for the selected artist. Additionally, a monthly stipend will be provided to support material costs throughout the residency. We are thrilled to announce that esteemed North Texas artists and curators, Benito Huerta and Letitia Huckaby, will serve as jurors to review submissions and choose the resident for 2024.
The A.I.R. program is designed to offer a nurturing environment, resources, and opportunities for the selected artist to delve into their creative pursuits fully. As we move forward, our aim is not only to support emerging and mid-career talents but also to foster collaborative projects that engage and enrich our local community. Some of our A.I.R. alums include: Dan Lam, Marshall Harris, Crystal Wagner, Jay Wilkinson, Jeremy Joel, Erika Duque, and Hoxxoh.
