Celebrate the End of Summer at the Carter and Party on the Porch
Don’t miss the biggest event of the year at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art! Join the Carter on Saturday, September 30 for the Museum’s annual Party on the Porch featuring a free evening of art, activities, music, and fun! Visitors can explore the galleries and exhibitions, get creative with art-making activities inspired by artworks on view, and end the night with a free outdoor concert featuring Summer Dean and Alejandro Escovedo. Party on the Porch is free to all visitors, but reservations are required.
During Party on the Porch, guests can tap into their inner artist with art-making activities throughout the Museum inspired by The World Outside: Louise Nevelson at Midcentury. Create a three-dimensional sculptural landscape inspired by the works on view in the exhibition, experiment with building blocks to create your own Nevelson-themed assemblage, bring a work of art to life at our hands-on sensory stations, and create Nevelson-inspired notebook.
Registration for this free event is available online at cartermuseum.org/POP23. Local food trucks will be on-site offering a variety of food and drink options for purchase. Visit the Museum website for a current list of food trucks. Carter members will enjoy access to our NEW Member Patio with free drinks and lite bites. Free parking is available at the HSC surface lots (across Camp Bowie from the Museum). Additional paid parking is also available at the Western Heritage Garage on Gendy Street and other parking lots at the Will Rogers Memorial Center. For more information about POP parking and accessibility, call 817.738.1933 or email info@cartermuseum.org. Visit the Museum’s website and follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for updates. Party on the Porch is sponsored in part by the Meta Alice Keith Bratten Foundation.
