Cowtown Is Going Green!
Forget New York City. Forget Boston. Forget Chicago. The best place to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day is right here in Fort Worth!
On Saturday, March 13, the city’s largest and most family-friendly St. Patrick’s Day celebration will take place this Saturday, March 13th at the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District. This annual event serves as a community-wide celebration of Irish culture with a western twist. It’s an action-packed day of Irish music and dancing, great food, kid’s games and crafts, giveaways and a Texas-sized parade that’ll have you seeing green!
From stick horse races in Mule Alley to the McTeggart Irish Dances on the Exchange Main Stage, from armadillo races at the Cowtown Coliseum to an Old West comedy gun fight at Stockyards Station, the St. Patrick’s Day celebration at the Stockyards is full of excitement. In addition, there will be music, face painting, games, and great food and drinks all day long!
The festivities start at 10 am with the Irish-Western Parade starting immediately after the 4 pm cattle drive. This year’s Grand Marshall is Council Member Carlos Flores, and the parade route will begin south on Packers. Billy Smith, Clayton Cullen, and Ed Brown are this year’s announcers.
So dress your family in green this Saturday and head to the Stockyards for the best St. Patrick’s Day celebration outside of Ireland!
