THE BIG GOOD Can Do More Good in 2023
THE BIG GOOD returned to Fort Worth in a BIG way for their second annual event on March 30, 2023. Welcoming back friends and community partners, co-founders Leon Bridges and Gary Patterson hosted their 2023 event at Tannahill Tavern in Mule Alley. The 2023 event highlighted the best of local businesses in its silent auction, an exciting live auction and exclusive performances by Leon Bridges and Durand Jones.
The event promised to be as exciting as its inaugural year, and hoped to exceed their charitable contributions to each of their partners. In conclusion of the second annual event, THE BIG GOOD is excited to announce a significant increase in their fundraising initiatives, marking another record setting year of giving from the Fort Worth community. Through the momentum of a partnership with The Rainwater Foundation, THE BIG GOOD launched a pre-event community match to charge donors throughout Fort Worth to get involved with their efforts.
“We are so grateful to have this $500,000 donation from Rainwater,” said Gary Patterson. “Having this partnership come to fruition ultimately just allows us to highlight and amplify the incredible work our community partners are doing. Whether it be through support of THE BIG GOOD or any efforts in Fort Worth, our call to action to the community is simple: find a cause and get involved.”
THE BIG GOOD continued to support three local organizations in the Fort Worth community through its 2023 efforts: The Tarrant To & Through Partnership, United Community Centers and UpSpire. The three organizations are committed to leaving a positive impact for generations to come through child education development programs, student career pathway training and employment for homeless members of the community. Through THE BIG GOOD, these three organizations are able to share their stories, work together and expand their reach throughout Fort Worth.
“We just want to continue doing all we can for these three organizations,” said Bridges. “These causes are all very near and dear to our hearts. Being from Fort Worth and getting to come home and be apart of this really is what it is all about.” Echoing Patterson’s statement, Bridges continued, “Seeing the community band together for a common cause is what we hope to inspire through THE BIG GOOD and we just want to continue this work we’ve started.”
THE BIG GOOD would like to give a special thanks to Presenting Sponsor The Rainwater Foundation and Underwriting Sponsor Luther King Capital Management. Other sponsors include Gilchrist Automotive, Goff Capital, Higginbotham, North Texas Community Foundation and Sewell.
