Getting to Know Dr. Elizabeth Laborde

Some of our readers have known Dr. Elizabeth Laborde for years. Some have been driving the extra miles to take their kids to her in Burleson, and the reason why is obvious. All of her patients and patients’ parents will tell you Dr. Laborde is a fantastic pediatric dentist.

Well, we have good news for those of you who don’t know Dr. Laborde, or those who feel Burleson is too far to drive for excellent dental care. Last Tuesday, Dr. Laborde opened her new practice, Clearfork Pediatric Dentistry, right in the heart of Fort Worth.

Born of a desire to work where she lives, Dr. Laborde’s new Fort Worth practice will allow her to feel more integrated in our community and, most importantly, spend more time with her three young children. A native of the area, Dr. Laborde knew by the time she was about 16 she wanted to be a pediatric dentist. “I loved my childhood dentist. He was really wonderful and because of that experience I got interested in dentistry at a young age.”

Laborde attended the Baylor College of Dentistry, now the Texas A&M College of Dentistry, in Dallas where she met her husband, a periodontist. She knew she wanted to raise her family in Fort Worth, so after dental school, she moved back.

Now the President Elect of the Fort Worth Dental Society, Dr. Laborde prides herself on creating a judgment free zone. As she says, “When I was a kid I had a major sweet tooth and maybe wasn’t the best brusher in the world. As a result, I needed lots of dental work. So I know what it’s like to be a kid who needs help. As a mom I also know how hard it can be to get kids to brush properly. Like my dentist when I was a kid, I want to educate my patients about their oral health and empower them to take control of their dental health journey.”

Specializing in pediatric dentistry, Laborde also seeks to help kids who are experiencing more unique dental issues and kids with special needs. Laborde understands the necessity for continuity of care for many with special needs beyond childhood, so she sees her special needs patients into adulthood.
