I would not recommend Perez Remodeling to anyone. What was supposed to be a 2-4 week project dragged on for over four months, with countless issues along the way. Their communication was terrible, multiple things in our home were damaged, and we were repeatedly given false promises and outright lies from the contractors.
We hired them to knock down a wall, redo our electrical work, and build custom cabinets. The electrical contractors were completely unreliable, making mistake after mistake. They no-showed multiple times, costing my wife and me valuable days off work, and at one point, they disappeared entirely for months.
The cabinet work was just as bad. The initial build was wrong, and they assured us they would redo it. Instead, after waiting an additional two months, we discovered they had never remade the cabinets at all. On top of that, installation (which was rescheduled six times) was incomplete—they installed only one-third of the cabinets and then told us we needed to hire specialists to demo parts of our kitchen, something they had known about from the beginning.
Their workmanship was subpar, and we had to redo multiple things ourselves to fix their mistakes. On top of all that, we ended up paying over $4,000 more than our original estimate, even with their so-called “discounts.” We wish we could have paid them nothing.
To make matters worse, they must have anticipated negative feedback because, on the last day, they tried to get us to sign a confidentiality agreement preventing us from posting about our experience—something we absolutely refused to do.
If they don’t make serious changes, they’ll be out of business before the year is over. Steer clear and find another contractor.
If I could give negative stars, I would. Perez Remodeling was dishonest, unprofessional, and unreliable throughout our entire project. They repeatedly misled us with blatant lies, rarely provided updates unless we pressed them, and ignored us for days or even weeks at a time. Once, when I called to ask about project timelines, Eli Perez even hung up on me in frustration. Their crew also made sexist and inappropriate comments, making me uncomfortable in my own home alone with them.
What was supposed to be a 2-4 week project dragged on for 18 weeks before we finally cut ties and told them we were done and didn’t want them to continue. Every delay and mistake was blamed on subcontractors—many of whom we didn’t even know were involved until problems arose. We hired them under the impression that only their cabinets were outsourced, but later found out they also subcontracted electrical work without informing us.
The quality of work was abysmal. They caused water damage under our dishwasher, hid our attic cover after they broke it, left nicks and chips in our flooring, installed drywall so poorly that outlet covers didn’t fit, and left us with cracks, broken lights, and a mismatched floor replacement. When we tried to get these issues fixed, they refused – saying that because we weren’t paying for the damage repairs, they were not going to give us quality work – despite us never asking for them to give us the work for free, that was something they offered on their own. When we asked to pay so that we could have quality work done on the drywall, Eli Perez said no and that they’d already wasted too much time and money on us. In our last experiences with them, Eli Perez gave me someone else’s house key and then accused me of changing the locks when that didn’t fit in my door because he “wouldn’t have lost the key”.
They market themselves as perfectionists with strong values and high integrity, but our experience showed otherwise. Those are just buzzwords they use to get clients – not actual values they work by. Stay far away from this company.
