Summer programming takes place 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. A $100 registration fee for children ages 6 to 13 covers not only the summer program, but also annual BGCGTC membership and after-school programs. Youth between the ages of 13 and 18 can attend summer and after-school programs for free. Registration is required.

The low cost includes a wide range of high-impact programming based on children’s ages and interests, including arts and crafts, hands-on STEM activities, health and fitness, and other social activities. Game rooms are equipped with pool tables, video games, and other interactive and collaborative activities to keep participants engaged in fun activities. Basketball and volleyball leagues appeal to those interested in athletic competition. Health and fitness activities emphasize the importance of physical well-being in addition to the hot, scratch-made meals served by BGCGTC’s Blue Door Kitchen on a daily basis.

For teens, there are workforce development opportunities like culinary and cosmetology programs as well as character and leadership clubs. Summer program participants of all ages also have access to counselors who can help address mental health and other concerns. Additionally, educational activities including reading and math exercises help prevent summer learning loss between school years.

“Parents want to know their children are well cared for, and Boys & Girls Clubs offer an affordable, safe and trusted resource in their community,” said LaToyia Greer, regional vice president for BGCGTC. “At the same time, their children want to go back to school with stories about all of the cool things they did over the summer.  We offer them plenty to do and many opportunities for growth.”
