After a virtual year when Santa and Mrs. Claus couldn’t come to town, the Amon Carter Museum of American Art is thrilled to announce that the North Pole natives have booked their reindeer flight for Fort Worth and will be at this year’s Merry Members.

“What is Merry Members?” I hear you ask. Merry Members is one of Fort Worth’s most beloved holiday traditions, and this year, it’s happening on Saturday, December 4.

Bring your whole family to the Carter for an afternoon of wintery art projects that promise to be fun for all ages, cookies, gallery tours, and an opportunity to get your picture taken with Santa.

(Editorial note: There is NO better place to get your pictures taken with Santa in Fort Worth than the beautiful Main Gallery of the Carter. Trust me on this!)

“We’re so glad to be back in person for this year’s Merry Members,” said Stacey Smith, who is the Carter’s Membership Manager. “Last year, we did all we could to make our virtual event fun for everyone, but there’s nothing like welcoming our families back into the museum to celebrate!”

Smith said that all Merry Member’s winter-themed activities are designed to appeal to a range of ages. “We want to make sure that everyone in the family, from preschoolers to teens to parents to grandparents, can have fun.”

Smith added that photo opportunities with Santa would be available to all museum patrons, not just members. “After last year, we thought everyone could use a little Santa!” Smith said.

While Merry Members is free for Carter Family members, this year’s, Santa and Mrs. Claus have requested that Carter Family members RSVP either by email or by calling 817-989-5060 before November 29!
