New for 2026 is the PRORODEO Rookie Rally (Jan. 22)where top rookies in professional rodeo will compete eight exciting events. Returning is the FWSSR PRORODEO Tournament (Jan. 23 – Feb. 7), and the $1.5 million purse which ranks it among the nation’s top five rodeos sanctioned by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association.

Jim Gaffigan is a seven-time Grammy nominated comedian, actor, writer,producer, two-time New York Times best-selling author,three-time Emmy winning top touring performer, and multi-platinum-selling recording artist. He is known around the world for his unique brand of humor, which largely revolves around his observations on life. His 11th special, The Skinny, will premiere on Hulu November 22nd as the streamer’s first ever original stand up special for their new comedy vertical.  He can also currently be seen on Saturday Night Live playing Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz during the show’s 50th anniversary season.

Gaffigan is a top ten comedian according to Forbes’ most recent comedy list and top ten earning comedian in Pollstar. He released his 10th comedy special, Dark Pale, last year on Amazon Prime Video, an unprecedented achievement for the comedian/actor.  Dark Pale was met with critical fanfare with The New York Times calling it, ‘his best yet.”

Last fall, Gaffigan co-headlined with Jerry Seinfeld for a sold-out multi-city arena tour and in May of 2024, sold out two shows at The Hollywood Bowl during the Netflix Is Joke Festival. In 2021 Gaffigan released his 9th special, Comedy Monster, on Netflix which was nominated for a Grammy Award.  He was also recently awarded for being the first comedian to reach one billion streams on Pandora.

Gaffigan can currently be seen opposite co-stars Jerry Seinfeld, Melissa McCarthy, James Marsden, and Hugh Grant in Netflix’s Unfrosted, which debuted as the #1 movie in the world on Netflix this May. He can also currently be seen as the lead in the well-reviewed and certified fresh Sci-Fi drama, Linoleum, which was named one of Vulture.com’s best movies of 2023 and is currently streaming on Hulu after a theatrical release.

Gaffigan starred as Mr. Smee in Disney’s Peter Pan and Wendy, opposite Jude Law and Yara Shahidi. Also premiering recently, Gaffigan joined the cast of HBO Max’s Full Circle, a limited series from Steven Soderbergh and Ed Solomon which follows an investigation into a botched kidnapping, connecting multiple characters and cultures in present day NY.

On the silver screen, his many credits include Three Kings, Super Troopers 1& 2, and Chappaquiddick.2019 was Gaffigan’s biggest year in film to date with an astonishing eight films releasing, three which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival including Troop Zero with Viola Davis and Alison Janney, Them That Follow and Light From Light – with many festival goers and press calling Gaffigan the “King of Sundance.”   Gaffigan was also recently heard in Disney/Pixar’s highly anticipated animated film, Luca, opposite Jacob Tremblay and Maya Rudolph.

Gaffigan had two films recently in which he debuted as the lead. The comedic film Being Frank, and American Dreamer, a dark thriller which features him as a ride share app worker who moonlights as a private driver for a drug dealer. Gaffigan can also currently be seen opposite Ethan Hawke in IFC Films Tesla, as well as opposite Josh Hartnettin Saban Films’ Most Wanted.

In addition to two seasons of the critically acclaimed semi-autobiographical The Jim Gaffigan Show, which he wrote and produced with his wife Jeannie, Gaffigan has guest starred on many television comedies and dramas, ranging from Portlandia and Bob’s Burgers to the HBO cult hits Flight of the Concords to dramatic roles in Law & Order.

Gaffigan regularly does humorous commentaries on CBS Sunday Morning for which he has won 3 Emmys.  In2018 Jim served as master of ceremony at The Al Smith Memorial dinner.  In 2015, Gaffigan had the great honor of performing for Pope Francis and over 1 million festival attendees at the Festival of Families in Philadelphia.

Dairy and Beef cattle compete for blue ribbons on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The Mustang Magic Champions Freestyle competition is Friday. FRIDAYS ARE SENIOR DAYS

The parade will begin at its usual location on Main Street and Weatherford Street south of the Tarrant County Courthouse, will continue south to the Convention Center, turn left at 9^th Street and left on Commerce Street, and continue north to Weatherford Street. Reserved seating will remain at Sundance Square and the Convention Center.

Based on its popularity year after year, it’s easy to see where that thinking comes from. And once again officials with the FWSSR are expecting a large turnout for the festivities which begin Friday Jan. 12 and continue through Feb. 3.

“It’s an opportunity for everyone in North Texas to come be a part of the energy and excitement of the cowboy and cowgirl way of life, a chance to connect with the vibe and feeling that’s woven deep into the fabric of Fort Worth,” said FWSSR communications director Matt Brockman. “In addition to rodeo, whether you’re wanting a ‘date night’ or ‘family day’ the Stock Show is your answer.”

Just as important, Brockman added, for every ticket purchase, for every donation to a scholarship fund, every visit to the FWSSR helps generate support and educational opportunities for the youth of Texas. Since 1985 more than $100 million in contributions, educational grants, scholarships and auction proceeds have benefited Texas 4-H and FFA members.

Last year’s estimated attendance was 1,271,250. Estimated attendance for the rodeo in 2023 was 222,238.

Considering it happens at the first of the year, weather can sometimes be a challenge. For example, the annual parade was canceled in 2022 because of high winds. Of course, the entire FWSSR itself was canceled in 2021 because of the COVID 19 pandemic.

But, barring any unforeseen changes – this is North Texas weather we’re talking about after all – things are looking good for the FWSSR 2024.

“The forecast calls for an extreme possibility of lots of fun and excitement,” Brockman said. “The weather forecast looks good, too, with lots of sunshine and moderate temps.”

Something new this year at the FWSSR, the popular Junior Sale of Champions auction for 4-H and FFA youth selling their steers, lambs, barrows and goats is moving to the W.R. Watt Arena.

“This gives everyone more room to enjoy the excitement of the auction. Last year a record $7.5 million was raised for these deserving youth from across Texas,” Brockman said.

Among the favorite attractions:

• Rodeo in Dickies Arena should be on everyone’s “must see and do” list, Brockman said. “The energy level raises the roof on the nation’s premier facility where the action and fun are second to none.”
• The Corkyard and Bud Light Roadhouse provide great music acts performing before and after the rodeo performances. Ship & Shop and Bubbles & Bites give wine lovers opportunities to wine, dine and shop in the aisles and aisles for rodeo shopping vendors.
• Of course, there are animals of all kinds. Cattle, sheep, swine, poultry, goats, horses and rabbits being evaluated by a judge’s careful eye, but also lots of cuddly ones to enjoy in the extremely popular Petting Zoo and Pony Rides presented by Mattress Firm.
• A favorite for generations is the Carnival/Midway and, of course, there are lots of great food options whether you gravitate toward corn dogs, funnel cakes or cotton candy at a nearby concession stand or some of Reata’s renowned cuisine at one of their three comfortable restaurants on the stock show grounds at Fort Worth’s Will Rogers Memorial Center.

And there are concerts with a star-studded array of performers on tap  for the FWSSR Auditorium Entertainment Series at historic Will Rogers Auditorium, including:
