Deadline for submissions is Jan. 20. Chosen works of elementary, middle school and high school students will be featured during the concert program.

CMSFW teams up with some of the most prominent art museums in the city for this Family Concert Series. These collaborations creatively combine music, art, storytelling, history and culture into unique children’s programs.

Artists are urged listen to and be inspired by the music of Russian composer Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky, the featured composer. Click on the link to listen to the orchestra recording and let imaginations soar. Complete art contest details and the music link are on the CMSFW website.

This unique interactive production is designed for an immersive family-friendly experience. The program features live performances by some of the area’s finest classical musicians. It introduces the genre of classical music to youth and their families. The presentation immerses the audience in an adventurous journey of different worlds designed to inspire children’s curiosity and creativity.

The final concert in the series is “From Sea to Shining Sea: A Tapestry of American Music” at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art. The performance is Saturday, March 22, 11 a.m.-12 p.m. with no intermission

This will be another immersive, interactive production that will capture the patriotic spirit of America. It takes the audience on a musical excursion through this country’s heartland. A brass quintet will play classic favorites celebrating America’s rich heritage with flag-waving nostalgia and toe-tappin’ fun.

Prices are $10 for adults and $5 for children 2 and up. CMSFW offers a group rate of $25 for families of four to eight people.
