Call me crazy, but I’ve always suspected my car runs better when it’s clean. Surely, I’m not the only one who thinks this, right?
Right?

Well, even if it doesn’t run better, it certainly looks better, and I feel better driving it. That’s why I am exceedingly happy there’s a new, locally owned express car wash on the west side of town that offers great value and a great experience.

Slappy’s Express Car Wash, now open at 5225 Bryant Irvin Road, is unlike those big national express car wash chains, because Slappy’s is owned and operated by a hands-on local ownership group. The difference this makes is obvious to anyone who visits Slappy’s.

The Slappy’s experience begins with a team that is focused on providing great customer service. Slappy’s only hires people who really care about the customer, and it shows. It shows in the way you’re greeted, and in the way the equipment, amenities and property are maintained. That customer-first approach coupled with brand new, meticulously maintained, top-of-the-line equipment, makes for an express car wash experience that is superior to anything else you will find in Fort Worth.

For those of you who are still stuck in the full-service carwash mindset, the express car wash is a little more hands-on (if you want it to be) but it’s also a lot quicker and quite a bit less expensive. The idea is that you spend a couple minutes rolling through a modern tunnel with fun animation and lights, and then it’s up to you! I typically spend five minutes vacuuming and wiping down the interior and exterior (but I am a member and I go every week!), some people skip the detail, others find every spec of dust in their entire car. Regardless, you’re in control versus waiting 30-60 minutes for someone else to do it for you. I mean, how long does it really take to vacuum up the goldfish and cheerios and then wipe the drips off your mirrors?

Doing it yourself only becomes frustrating if the vacuum doesn’t suck (see what I did there?) or there are no clean towels. Again, this isn’t some national chain we’re talking about.
