Join Santa at the Carter for Merry Members
Have you been thinking about getting a membership to the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, but you just haven’t pulled the trigger yet? Well, this is definitely the time do act because Santa and Mrs. Claus are coming to the Carter for Merry Members!

That’s right! Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the Carter on Saturday, December 3, from 1 to 3 pm.
I recently spoke with Stacey Smith, Membership Manager at the Carter, about this year’s visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
“We’re really excited for them to come down from the North Pole during their busiest time to visit with our guests,” Stacey said.

Although Merry Members is one of two members-only family day events that the Carter throws for members who have the Family add-on package, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for pictures with everyone. [Editor’s note: There is no better place to get pictures with Santa in Fort Worth. Trust me!]
Members who have the Family add-on package can join the Carter staff in the Lounge on the second floor for an afternoon of art, activities, and of course, cookies and milk. Alli Rogers Andreen, the Carter’s Manager of Family Programs, has some great things planned for members of all ages.

“Alli always does the most fun things that really encourage families to work together,” Stacey said. “We love seeing multigenerational families creating together. Last year, we had the cutest family. It was a couple with their brand-new baby who watched while Mom and Dad did the art projects. Alli always comes up with great projects for everyone from three to eighty-three.”
The Family add-on membership package is full of wonderful perks. You will get advance notice of the Carter’s family events like workshops, Art Tales, and Spring Break at the Carter. Your children will get birthday cards from the Carter which come with a special discount in the Museum Shop. And the Carter always throws two parties especially for members with the Family add-on, of which Merry members is one. All for only $35 extra!
The Carter offers American Sign Language interpreters with advance notification for all its family programming and adult events.
While Merry Members is free for Carter Family members, this year’s, Santa and Mrs. Claus have requested that Carter Family members RSVP either by email or by calling 817-989-5060 before November 25! And while Merry Members is come-and-go, Stacey said that to take full advantage of the fun, you should get there by 2 pm. But that’s just between you and me.
