Autumn Mommy Mixer & Canned Food Drive

I met Christy Smith, SoFortWorthIt blogger for Fort Worth, Texas Magazine, about 8 years ago when I flagged her down in the River Crest Country Club parking lot. A mutual friend suggested her house would be the perfect setting for a photo session I was about to shoot for a children’s line I was launching. Our friend was right. Christy’s home was picture-perfect and more importantly, Christy became one of my dear friends and a role model for me on how to stage the perfect party or event. She has impeccable taste, a talent stemming back from her art degree from SMU, and above all the BEST sense of humor. I just love to her death. If you have the privilege of knowing her you will agree she is one-of-a-kind.

She and I met over coffee a few weeks ago and hatched a plan to bring moms together for a fun mom-kid event. Naturally our first choice for a location was Central Market. We jotted down notes of what we would like an event to be for us – 1. entertaining for moms 2. fun for the kids 3. relaxed 4. a bit educational 5. and an excuse to day drink {insert libation emojis and a thumbs up}

TA-DA! We bring you our first in a series of Mommy Mixers!! This one is fall themed and we invite you to come with your friends and your kids to Central Market for a VERY relaxed and informal gathering. YES the kids can be in their dirty school uniforms. YES you can wear your activewear (even if you didn’t work out that day.) YES you can treat yourself to some wine or beer. NO you don not need to RSVP.

Happy kiddos getting to decorate fall shaped cookies with an abundance of frosting, sprinkles, M&Ms, and of course everyone’s fall favorite CANDY CORN!! We’ll be set up by the playground so they can run off all the sugar before dinner time.

Wine, beer and snacks available for purchase.

Even happier moms getting to unwind after school with good company and everything that Central Market has to offer. We’ll have fall themed tablescapes for inspiration as well as a short demonstration on how to assemble your pumpkin topiary masterpiece.
