Never Wonder About Where to Go for Date Night Again!

We all need a space to recharge, let loose, and connect with others. A cocktail or mocktail among friends in a new or familiar bar offers those moments. I’ve been fortunate to have a job that pays me to frequent new watering holes from time to time, and I’ve grown to appreciate bar owners like Jason Suder who greet patrons with “welcome home” and bartenders like Pam Moncrief who perfect and reinvent mixed drinks so regulars and newcomers can have a memorable night out.

To help locals and tourists keep up with the best hotel lobbies, bars, and distilleries in Fort Worth, I recently launched Panther City Pass with the help of my friend James Talambas to provide folks with a fun guide for exploring our finest drinking establishments. Bar Dryce (a lovely redeveloped industrial space), Maiden | Fine Plants & Spirits, and newcomer Atlas Fort Worth are just a few of the bars offering discounted cocktails on our cocktail guide. You’ll meet Jesse Meraz, the owner of The Basement Lounge who is an artist and art lover who turned his basement bar into a rotating art gallery. Up in the Stockyards, you can visit The Star Cafe, headed by an amazing couple (Misty and Victor Villarreal) who recently rebuilt the cafe’s decades-old bar and expanded the cocktail menu. Some of the best cocktails in town come from our passport partner Proper, where the co-owners Lisa and Phil Adams oversee a rotating menu of creative drinks.

Talambas worked magic on the booklets that feature a dapper panther sipping on a martini. Each page includes a brief description of the bar and space for taking notes on your experience there. We’ll be releasing zero-proof cocktail, taco, and dessert guidebooks throughout this year. To complement the release of our guidebooks, we’re launching a new online publication called Panther City Social where folks can go to learn about the people behind these amazing businesses.
