Worthy Convos: Joseph Berkes on Selling Fort Worth
Williams Trew is synonymous with Fort Worth residential real estate. A homegrown operation that was acquired by Ebby Halliday, another Texas force of nature, the brokerage firm prides itself on maintaining its reputation as a local operation. And the Berkes Group is no exception. Joseph, along with his wife, Claire, lead a growing team of six agents, all of whom have deep ties and knowledge of the city they love to call home. And odds are, they could help you find a place to call home too.
The Joseph Berkes Group is now a team of six. How does this expansion benefit your clients?
The expansion gives us a stronger foothold in the markets we already specialize in. There is power in knowledge and our combined insight in these markets really helps us match buyers and sellers.
What’s special about your team? Other than the female power going on.
I’m no dummy. It’s a woman’s world. Truly we have created a very open and fun environment within our group. We all really help each other and enjoy seeing each other succeed.
We’ve been in a strange market lately. Any advice for the buyer who isn’t having much luck?
Our best advice would be to hire an experienced Realtor who specializes in the neighborhood you want to be in. They will be your best resource. We know a great group, give us a call!
Where do you see new residential growth happening in Fort Worth?
The beauty of Fort Worth is that it has so many established neighborhoods that continue to get better and better. We are really excited about the River District and Riverhills and look forward to residential growth in those developments in the future.
What is the appeal of residential real estate as opposed to commercial?
Selling homes is what we know. Building friendships and watching our client’s families grow is a ton of fun. We know that the purchase/sale of a home can be emotional, and we are honored that our clients let us be part of that.
When you need a team meeting or happy hour, where do you like to gather?
You will frequently see us running into Righteous Foods for coffee and breakfast burritos. For lunch meetings we love Tokyo Café; it’s an old favorite and their lunch is 100%. We cannot forget the Press Cafe patio though. It’s the best for happy hour on a nice day.
Although she prefers burnt orange to purple, Hannah Bush is happy to call Fort Worth her new home. She began freelance writing a few years ago to break up the monotony of her 9 to 5 and to prove to her parents that she’s making good use of her journalism degree. When she’s not hanging out with her cat, Hannah can likely be found on a patio with her brand new husband, talking about her cat.
