La Cantera, Fort Worth’s newest luxury neighborhood
I’m a big fan of the La Cantera and Monserrat properties in Fort Worth. I attended a Colonial Ladies Tennis Association event there a couple of years ago felt like I had been transported to Texas Hill Country and on vacation. It’s not like living right in the city where you can’t see the horizon, or way out in the country where you can’t just rush out for a quick bite and meet up with friends. It’s the BEST of both worlds, you are minutes from downtown and best the private schools and restaurants of Fort Worth, but there’s stretching room and the wide open spaces of West Fort Worth…read beautiful sunsets.
This Sunday I jotted around Phase II and III of La Cantera and popped into a couple of houses that I thought you might want to see for yourself.
Here’s 8512 Tierra Court | 76126
This home was constructed by M the Builders which is the union of Maverick Homes and Monument Custom Builders with a combined 50 years experience. I thought the home felt solid using high quality materials and close attention to detail. I made the kiddos take off their soccer cleats before coming in, but the soccer ball did happen to make it’s way into the home. {insert blushing emoji} Let’s just say these 4 rambunctious kids would really have to work hard to make any dents in this home.
There’s one other house I think you should take a peek at also by M the Builders…

I spy a mud room. Swoon. A mother’s dream.
Those 4 feet between coming in from the garage and entering the home represents miles of civilization. I currently live in the stone ages in my home sans mud room. Sigh. Clearly women are helping design homes these days and contributing with the refinement of kid clutter.
La Cantera will have Open Houses this Thursday, September 24th from 4 to 6pm. They will have cocktails and hors d’oeuvres for this happy hour. This is a great opportunity to explore the neighborhood! If you can’t make the Open House, you can call to schedule a private showing: 817.247.6464
Here’s the BEST part of deal. John Zimmerman of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s who represents these homes, available lots, and more in La Cantera is having a private VIP party Thursday, October 1st for an evening with the Bellamy Brothers. I have passes for 2 for one lucky reader! Simply comment below and let me know what feature you cannot live without if you were building a home here. Winner announced Friday, September 25th. Good luck!****
****The contest is now over! Thank you to all who participated.
The mud room of course is dreamy and the wide open room concept with nice kitchen counter space. I love to have everyone in the kitchen:)
Congrats Jacqueline, you’re the winner of the Bellamy Brothers passes! I will email you the details!
Gorgeous!
A nice open kitchen is a must for entertaining.
My husband and I need dual sinks in our bathroom like now. I would also love a laundry room with a folding counter to keep all the laundry in one area, I’m tired of laundry ending up all over the house.
I’d have to say mud room with a laundry room and sink. Is it obvious I have boys 😉
My must if building a house would be built in china cabinet for dining room and fireplace in master bedroom along with a mini coffee bar.
The MUD ROOM! With a football coach for a hubs and a little boy, a mud room would be fantastic! No more turf pieces all over the house!
The huge laundry room and mud room!! We always need somewhere to put all of our ‘stuff’ that ends up on the kitchen counter if you don’t have the mud/laundry!! Beautiful homes!!
I love the mud room also. Great place to deal with clutter from kids.
LOVE the kitchen on Tierra Court! I definitely need a mud room!
If I could build here….I would replica the house shown above! I love an open, white kitchen and I dream about mud rooms all the time! Pictures are amazing!
A mud room and an awesome laundry room where I can fold laundry, iron, etc all in the same space.
definitely a mudroom and laundry room.
Outdoor living/kitchen space for entertaining – bonus it would have a great view! ?
We have a contract on 8500 Tierra Ct. We are excited to be a part of this community and can not wait to move in.
That’s exciting Carla, congrats!
If I could build my dream home out there, I would want an open kitchen and living space for entertaining. I love la Cantera…truly the best of both worlds!!
Large living and kitchen rooms for feeding and friends
a bit of land for the children is always a plus!
My must in a new home would be a large kitchen island that houses cabinets, a vegetable sink and seating for loved ones.
Oh these homes are beautiful! I absolutely couldn’t live without a spacious and well-lit kitchen, hand-scraped hardwood floors to add character, and of course the mud room would be dreamy!
Outdoor living room with lots of space to play, cook, and stay cool!
If the bedrooms were upstairs, I would want my laundry room upstairs, too. I’ve never understood why all the clothes are in closets upstairs and you have to take them downstairs to wash them and back upstairs again to put them away.
The mud room/drop zone. With three kiddos and LOTS of junk we need a spot designated for our stuff….also along those lines is a nice laundry room. I do a LOT of laundry. 🙂 Should I win, I promise to purchase a belt with my name on the back of it and wear it to the concert. THANKS!
