Give Them a Home for the Holidays
Neiman Marcus Fort Worth announces a third year in partnership with the Saving Hope Foundation and Humane Society of North Texas this Holiday season.
Last year during the event, over 70 pets found forever homes. Adoptable dogs and puppies will be available for adoption this year at Neiman Marcus Fort Worth Thursday, December 12 through Saturday, December 14 from 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday, December 15 from 11 am to 6 pm.
The Saving Hope Foundation was inspired by the amazing story of Hope, a 30-pound pug- mix who was betrayed, brutalized and left for dead on a country road in Weatherford. She was found wandering alone on the Moncrief Ranch, her muzzle taped shut, her tongue protruding and swollen. She was suffering from extreme dehydration, and she had been stabbed multiple times. It took only four days – and 100 stitches – for Hope to begin eating and drinking on her own. Her spirit had won, and it moved nine passionate Fort Worth leaders to take action.
While Hope’s story is tragic, it’s important to hear the details. It helps understand the mission of this organization and the passion of the determined women driving it. “We want something good to come out of this horrible thing that happened to Hope,” said Kit Moncrief, who adopted Hope and founded the Saving Hope Foundation.
Hope’s story inspires us to adopt this Holiday season. The Humane Society of North Texas will transport a variety of small and large breed dogs of all ages to Neiman Marcus in the hopes of finding a forever home. “The Humane Society of North Texas is proud to once again partner with Neiman Marcus and the Saving Hope Foundation to find homes for pets this holiday season,” said Cassie Lackey, Communications Manager for the Humane Society of North Texas (HSNT). “This is a great opportunity to bring joy to your family and save the life of a homeless pet! HSNT is on pace to find homes for more than 10,000 animals in 2018, and we hope to exceed last year’s total during this festive adoption event.”
Vice President and General Manager of Neiman Marcus, Scott Mitchell, encourages customers to adopt this Holiday season. “Neiman Marcus has supported a diverse array of organizations over the years, and we welcome Saving Hope and Humane Society of North Texas with open hearts. My family and I feel compelled to save shelter animals to give them a new life, and have adopted three pets into our own home.”
A book launch will kick-off the partnership on Wednesday, December 11 from 5-8 pm at Neiman Marcus Fort Worth, celebrating the “Hope & Friends” book. The book is funded by Saving Hope supporters who have purchased a page in the book to feature their own beloved pets. The book is complimentary for page supporters. Additional books will be offered for a $40 donation to the Saving Hope Foundation. Holiday sips and sweets will be served, while current foster puppies and dogs will be available in the Neiman Marcus window display from the Saving Hope Foundation.
Following the book launch event, adoptions will continue to the public from the Humane Society of North Texas featuring a variety of breeds and ages, Thursday, December 12 through Saturday, December 14 from 10am to 6pm and Sunday, December 15 from 11 am to 6 pm. Each adoptable dog has received a health evaluation, age appropriate vaccinations, spay or neutering, and microchip and is eligible for a complimentary vet exam at participating veterinary office and a free month of pet insurance. Adoption fees vary and restrictions may apply.
