Festival of the Kid Returns to Stage West
Stage West is proud to present the 19th Annual Festival of the Kid, featuring 30 never-produced pieces, written and performed by local students. The Festival takes place Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3, 2025 in the Russell Theatre at Stage West, located at 821 W Vickery Blvd in Fort Worth.

The 30-minute Youth Show will take place at 2:00pm with works written by and starring elementary students. The 90-minute Teen Show begins at 5:00pm. This includes all pieces written by and starring high school students. It comes with a PG-13 rating. Both days of the Festival feature the exact same content.
These plays, scenes and monologues are all winning selections from Stage West’s 2025 Neighborhood Play Contest, which runs each fall. In the last couple of years, due to generous grant funding, we have been able to offer more aid and inspiration to young budding playwrights, with in-school workshops throughout DFW, as well as personalized writing coaching for all of our finalists. The extra time and energy is evident in this year’s pieces. We are so impressed by these works and can’t wait to share them!

Tickets for the Festival of the Kid are $5 each. The Lobby Cafe will be open for lunch from 12-2pm, then open for drinks, snacks and desserts during Festival breaks/intermissions. Reservations for lunch are encouraged, especially for parties of 4 or more. Please contact the Box Office at 817-784-9378.
