Fort Worth Country Day Class of 2026 Earns Over $15 Million in Scholarships
Fifty-one percent of the senior class will attend out-of-state colleges and universities in the fall, with the remaining 49% choosing to stay in Texas to pursue their higher education. Texas Christian University leads as the highest-enrolling institution for this class with 13 students. The University of Texas at Austin follows with eight students, and Texas A&M University will enroll seven students. Additionally, two students from the Class of 2026 gained admission to Ivy League institutions.

FWCD valedictorian Andrew Lobo will attend Princeton University this fall to study electrical engineering. Lobo is a National Merit Finalist and a U.S. Presidential Scholars Program Candidate whose time at FWCD was defined by extensive academic achievements and community involvement. Salutatorian Eliza Peacock will attend Wake Forest University, where she plans to major in English. Peacock demonstrated a strong commitment to service throughout her high school career by co-founding a local literacy program and interning with a women-run company during extensive mission work in Ethiopia.
Other highlights from the Class of 2026 include:
- 12 seniors were named National Merit Finalists or National Merit Commended Scholars.
- 22 seniors earned College Board National Recognition Awards.
- 29 seniors were named AP Scholars, AP Scholars with Honor, and AP Scholars with Distinction.
- 73% of the Class of 2026 were accepted to their first-choice college or university.
- FWCD seniors received offers of admission from four Ivy League institutions —Harvard University, Princeton University, University of Pennsylvania, and Yale University — with two seniors choosing to enroll.
- Three students will pursue degrees in fine arts, including:
- Sophia Jiang, minoring in dance at Barnard College in New York City
- Eden Turner, majoring in art history at the University of Texas at Austin
- Ava Vanderpoel, studying musical theatre at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City
- 10 seniors will participate in collegiate athletics, including:
- Amelia Dickerson, golf at Trinity College in Hartford, CT
- Canaan Factor, football at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX
- John David Hart, lacrosse at Emory & Henry University in Emory, VA
- Cal Neubauer, football at Davidson College in Davidson, NC
- Jack Ogle, baseball at Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport, LA
- Anna Schwartz, field hockey at Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, PA
- Roeser Thomas, rugby at University of New Haven in West Haven, CT
- Luke Vincent, soccer at Sewanee – The University of the South in Sewanee, TN
- Fulton Weaver, football at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA
- Jack Wegman, basketball at Texas Christian University
