Celebrating Cowboys and Culture with the Carter Society
The bulls are coming to town, and the Carter Society of the Amon Carter Museum of American Art is ready to celebrate! On Wednesday, January 22, the Carter Society is hosting their annual pre-rodeo party at the Museum from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, and you’re invited.
The party will feature all sorts of good eats from Fort Worth’s Heim Barbecue. If you have never experienced Heim, these folks have quickly become the standard of the new Fort Worth-style barbecue for a good reason! Pam Moncrief and her POP UP BAR will be on hand with craft cocktails that have been specially curated for this event. (Read more about Pam and POP UP BAR in the January/February issue of Madeworthy!) To round out the party, DJ Ronnie Hart will be there to get the crowd moving to his signature beat (plus a little twang!) before Bulls’ Night Out, one of the most popular events of the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo (FWSSR) begins.
Peter Luby, Head of Museum Advancement for the Amon Carter, recognizes that this is a “moment to celebrate the new” for both the newly renovated Museum and the FWSSR, which makes its debut in the new Dickies Arena. Both the Amon Carter and the FWSSR are pillars of Fort Worth’s Cowboys and Culture, and Luby believes that the Carter Society is at the forefront of “this new energy and spirit that’s launching Fort Worth into the future because the members of the Carter Society are the future leaders of Fort Worth.”
“But wait! What is the Carter Society?” I hear you ask. An “add-on” to any membership level, the Carter Society offers such perks as advanced registration for workshops, exclusive information about special events, behind-the-scenes announcements, and unique opportunities with museum partners.
