FWSSR Announces Music Lineup
The Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo (FWSSR), in partnership with Live Nation, is excited to announce the first five of what promises to be a stellar lineup of performers for the Auditorium Entertainment Series presented by Ariat.
Held in the legendary Will Rogers Auditorium during the Show’s 128th edition, January 12 – February 3, the series will welcome iconic country music artist Sammy Kershaw, Grammy award-winning roots band Old Crow Medicine Show, multi-platinum country music entertainer and actor Trace Adkins, Motown legend Smokey Robinson and the combined talents of Academy of Country Music and Grammy award winners Pam Tillis and Little Texas.
Sammy Kershaw kicks off the series on January 12. Since his debut on the music scene in the early 90’s, Kershaw has remained one of the most consistent power hitters in country music—both with a chain of major hit records and sell-out touring schedules. His platinum albums were propelled into the records books by hits such as “She Don’t Know She’s Beautiful,” “I Can’t Reach Her Anymore,” “National Working Woman’s Holiday,” “Love Of My Life,” “Cadillac Style,” “Don’t Go Near The Water,” “Haunted Heart,” along with many other milestones.
Grammy Award-winning folk band Old Crow Medicine Show brings its unique brand of roots music to the stage on January 18, including the critically acclaimed Paint This Town, their first album of all original material in five years, released in 2022. Inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2013, Old Crow Medicine Show found its following with such hits as Country Music Association Song of the Year, “Wagon Wheel.” The group’s 25th Anniversary was marked in 2023 with the release of their latest album, Jubilee, which was just nominated for Best Folk Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards.
Trace Adkins, known for his deep baritone and cross-over appearances as an actor in “Mom’s Night Out,” and “Deepwater Horizon,” among many others, will appear January 19. Since his debut in 1996, the larger-than-life star has sold over 11 million albums and charted 20 songs on Billboard’s all genre Hot 100, while catapulting 15 singles into the Top 10 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. He’s also racked up two billion streams and boasts a reputation for a fiery live performance.
Legendary recording artist and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Smokey Robinson will bring his iconic voice to the stage January 20. With hits such as his first solo top ten Pop single, “Cruisin,'” and his sensual ballad, “Being with You,” his name is synonymous with Motown Records, as leader of the Miracles, as a solo artist, as a songwriter, as a producer and, along with Berry Gordy Jr., as a founding father of the company. The writer of more than 1,000 songs, Robinson’s songwriting efforts resulted in a bevy of major hits for The Miracles, like “I Second That Emotion,” “Going to a Go Go,” “You Really Got a Hold on Me,” “Tears of a Clown,” and one of the most memorable, “The Tracks of My Tears.”
Country Music favorites Pam Tillis and Little Texas will share the stage February 1. Tillis is three-time CMA award winner including the prestigious 1994’s Female Vocalist of The Year Award. She has been nominated multiple times for Grammy’s Best Female Country Vocal Performance: in 1993 for “Maybe It Was Memphis;” in 1996 for “Mi Vida Loca;” and in 1998 for “All The Good Ones Are Gone.” Pam is also proud to be a nine-time Academy of Country Music Award nominee, a two-time Grammy award winner and six-time Grammy nominee, and an American Music Award’s nominee.
In the early 1990s, as a new era of country music took hold, Little Texas burst onto the scene with their debut album, ‘First Time for Everything,’ featuring songs exclusively written, recorded, and performed by the band members. Quickly rising to prominence, they became one of the top vocal bands of the decade, earning the title of the “Hardest Working Band in Country Music” with over seven million units sold across eight albums and thousands of shows. Little Texas achieved notable success with 12 Top 20 singles, including seven Top 10s and three consecutive number one hits: “What Might Have Been,” “God Blessed Texas,” and “My Love.” The iconic ’90s band received multiple Grammy, CMA, and ACM nominations, clinching the ACM for Top Vocal Group in 1994.
“The Auditorium Entertainment Series has established itself as one of Fort Worth’s best entertainment destinations and 2024 will raise the bar even higher,” said FWSSR President Brad Barnes. “This is just the start of what will be a number of incredible artists appearing in the historical Will Rogers Auditorium throughout the Show.”
