Jump into spring with Second Thursdays at the Carter! Second Thursdays is a FREE monthly event at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art (the Carter) where visitors can connect with art through cocktails, conversations, and creativity in the heart of Fort Worth’s Cultural District.
Just like the art on the Carter’s walls, these events are always changing, so each visit offers something new. This season, enjoy exclusive artist talks, live music, specialty cocktails, art making, and more. Mark your calendar so you don’t miss out!

Second Thursdays at the Carter: Mysteries & Motives
Discover the riveting tales behind famous art crimes in the history of America art during a lecture with UNT professor Laura Evans. During this evening, enjoy a happy-hour live performance by Aautumn, grab a white peach sangria specialty cocktail, play mystery or clue-based board games in the Atrium, and participate in a forgery-inspired artmaking activity with Carter Community Artist Anna Joy Pham.

Second Thursdays at the Carter: Toasts & Tunes
Enjoy a crafted cocktail inspired by artworks in our collection and experience an evening of live music on our Porch. Dance along to popular beats with DJ Wild in the Streets, go on a cocktail-themed tour of the Carter’s collection, and create your own kinetic wire sculptures in vibrant colors with Carter Community Artist Brenda Ciardiello inspired by Ruth Asawa. To end the night, listen to Grammy-award winning band Brave Combo and dance on the Museum’s Porch during sunset.

Second Thursdays at the Carter: Cosmos & Curiosity
Celebrate Dario Robleto: The Signal, on view May 12 through October 27, 2024. Grab a specialty cocktail, create a unique work of art inspired by the exhibition, contribute to a Golden Record-themed playlist, and join us for an exclusive artist talk with Dario Robleto and Carter curator Maggie Adler. During this talk, Robleto and Adler will discuss Robleto’s artistic practice, sources of inspiration, and artwork on view in the exhibition, including his newly commissioned film Ancient Beacons Long for Notice.
