Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, Fort Worthians! I can safely say this is my favorite time of year and I am excited to share a list of festive happenings for you and your family to enjoy around the Fort. Ballet Frontier of Texas presents The Nutcracker: Kingdom of Sweets
December 4th-6th
Join Ballet Frontier for the magic of The Nutcracker: Kingdom of Sweets this holiday season! This year The Nutcracker: Kingdom of Sweets will start with the magical snow scene and continue through the second act! In addition, each performance will have an extra sweet bonus performance of either an evening of The Beatles, an evening of Tchaikovsky, Butterfly Lovers, and more!

Christmas Movies Under the Stars
December 4th
Join St. Peter’s Classical School for a fun-filled evening for the whole family.
We will have games, hot chocolate, refreshments, a fire pit, and an outdoor screening of two classic Christmas films (both are short!): “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and “The Snowman,” an animated television film and Symphonic Poem based on Raymond Briggs’ 1978 picture book The Snowman. Bring a blanket and warm clothes and enjoy a festive and brisk night under stars. The public is welcome, and they will be giving tours and answering questions about St. Peter’s Classical School. Enrollment for next academic year will be opening soon.
No cost for the event but RSVP is required. Call the school office to reserve your spot at 817-294-0124 or email us at spcsoffice@stpetersclassical.org. Doors open at 5:30pm for games, fire pit, fellowship, refreshments. The first film will start around 6:30pm.
Christmas Cantata at Christ Chapel Bible Church

“The Promise of Christmas” is a worship service that tells the story of Christ’s birth through spectacular music. Led by the CCBC Sanctuary Orchestra and Choir, the worship service is a special way to celebrate the season. Jingle All the Way, A Holiday Family Concert at Casa Manana
December 5th-20th
Your favorite holiday hits, sung by your favorite holiday characters! Join Frosty, Rudolph and Jingle the Elf in singing songs such as Frosty the Snowman, Jingle Bells, Santa Claus Is Coming to Town and many, many more! During the show, craft an ornament to take home for your tree, and don’t forget to order extra marshmallows for your hot chocolate! An appearance by the jolliest elf of all, Santa Claus, wraps up the concert. Craft materials are included with ticket purchase. Holiday in the Garden at Fort Worth Botanic Garden

The Botanical Research Institute of Texas and the Fort Worth Botanic Garden are excited to announce their Holiday in the Garden event! Mark your calendars for December 12th and bring your holiday cheer! Their FIVE-event collaboration includes our Holiday Sip n Shop, Holiday Tea, Santa in the Garden, Christmas Tree Farm, and a Free Afternoon in the Garden. Panther Island Ice
November 20th – January 18th
This is one of the unique holiday traditions Fort Worth offers each year. Panther Island Ice returns this holiday season. Located at the Coyote Drive-In, Fort Worth’s outdoor skating rink offers public skating starting on November 20, 2020. The ice rink will operate seven days a week through January 18, 2021, including all holidays. The rink is real ice located mostly under a large pavilion. Patrons can take advantage of the ample free parking, along with the drive-in’s other amenities such as covered seating, gas heaters, restrooms, and a full menu including beer and wine options. Texas Ballet Theater Presents the Nutcracker & The Nutty Nutcracker

Texas Ballet Theater (TBT) will keep the holiday spirit and a great holiday tradition in Fort Worth alive as they present a filmed production of The Nutcracker online December 14-26, 2020. TBT will offer a full-length film of The Nutcracker that patrons can enjoy directly on the company’s website, www.texasballettheater.org. Digital tickets are $30 and include access to a new, 30-minute version of The Nutty Nutcracker, the company’s popular annual spoof. Traditionally a one-night-only event, patrons can watch The Nutty Nutcracker on TBT’s website as well. Gretta Hendricks is a multidisciplinary creative who has been a chocolatier, baker, birth-doula, performance artist, and freelance writer, although her favorite job to-date has been becoming a first-time mama to her beautiful rainbow baby, Ofelia, born in January of 2020. Gretta has enjoyed writing for as long as she can remember and is passionately interested in the ways she can both learn and share from the art of storytelling. Alongside her husband and daughter, she loves living in and exploring Fort Worth as well as pouring into her church and local community.
