Cold-Busting Tea
Natalie Brown of Lettuce Cook shared a simple recipe for a cold-busting tea to drink daily. I just added a couple more ingredients to make it enjoyable for my palate. I’ve also included a few more ingredients for you to experiment with to give you a yummy flavor combo.
Here are the basic ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups of filtered water
- 1T to 2T apple cider vinegar (start with less if you are not used to drinking this magical elixir)
- 1T to 3T honey
- Juice of half a lemon
- Dash of cayenne pepper
- Dash of tumeric
- Dash of cinnamon
The way I like to do this is put the lemon juice, honey, and spices into the mug while I bring water to 190° in my electric kettle….or just before boil on a stove top. We’re not brewing anything here, so no need to get the water to boiling, plus you can drink it faster if it doesn’t get too hot.
After adding the hot water, I finish by stirring it with a fork to get the honey fully dissolved, and then top with the apple cider vinegar.
Making this tea has become a nightly ritual for me, and sometimes I sneak in an extra cup mid-day just because I crave it so much.
Some other ingredients you can consider adding are:
- fresh ginger
- cloves
- nutmeg
Enjoy your tea and comment below with some other herbs or ingredients you like to add!
