A New Partnership in Mule Alley
The Stockyards Heritage Development Co. is pleased to announce their new partnership with American Paint Horse Association (APHA) in efforts to expand western and equine event programming within the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District. As part of the partnership, historic Mule Alley and the Hotel Drover are named the official entertainment district of the APHA.
“The APHA has been a great partner to us in our ongoing developments and our commitment to elevating the western lifestyle experiences in the Stockyards,” says Craig Cavileer, managing partner of Stockyards Heritage Development Co. “With our new Hotel Drover and Mule Alley as the official entertainment district of the APHA, we further solidify our position in this special community.”
For 2021, the APHA plans to introduce a Sunday Barrel Racing and Breakaway Roping Series, the 2nd annual Cowgirl Gathering, and the new Reunion de Vaquero, all of which take place throughout the Fort Worth Stockyards and Cowtown Coliseum. The goal of the partnership is to develop new and exciting public events, provide growth and opportunity within the national and international equine industry, and to promote and preserve Fort Worth’s exceptional western heritage and contemporary cowboy culture.
In addition to collaborating on event promotion, the Fort Worth Stockyards will be sharing access to facilities for the purpose of conducting industry business and membership programs. Positioned in the heart of Dallas-Fort Worth, the fourth-largest metropolitan area in the United States, the Fort Worth Stockyards is one of the top visitor destinations in the state.
“Our partnership in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards is unique in the equine association, and these events are proof that committed partners can do great things,” says American Paint Horse Association Executive Director Billy Smith.
