Cake Artists Bring Strength and Hope to Fort Worth
The International Cake Exploration Societé (ICES) is holding its annual expo at the Omni Fort Worth Hotel in July, and is honoring the host city by having sugar artists bring displays of confectionery art using Fort Worth’s motto of “Strength and Hope.”
“Our event brings together cake decorators from all over every year to share and learn from each other, but also to show off their amazing talents,” said ICES President, Tina Crews. “Unlike many shows, our cake exposition is all about sharing and not a judged contest in any way. We want everyone to bring work they’re proud of so we can applaud each other’s dedication to this art form.”
Expo Chair, Jennifer Noble, said the city’s motto was a perfect match for the mood of the event this year, after last year’s was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. “We’ve never had to cancel our annual gathering in our 45-year history, so doing so in 2020 was a painful but necessary choice.”
