Fort Worth Celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month

Next post
Fort Worth is celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month September 15 to October 15 with a calendar full of events including a kickoff celebration in the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District.

“The Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to be launching a new theme this year as we prepare for our 48th annual awards celebration and gala,” said Anette Landeros, President and CEO of the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. ‘Hecho en Fort Worth’ is an ode to our strong pride for the local businesses that are contributing to the rich fabric of our community. They are uplifting our economy through their tenacious resilience, creating employment opportunities that will support families, and making Fort Worth a culturally vibrant place to live and work. ‘Hecho en Fort Worth’ is a proud declaration that we love the people, places, sounds, flavors, products, and companies that make Fort Worth the city we love.”

Hispanic Heritage Month honors the histories and contributions of Spanish and Latin American cultures prevalent today. September 15 is the anniversary of independence for Latin American countries Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Mexico and Chile celebrate their independence days on September 16 and 18, respectively.

“We are excited to promote Hispanic Heritage Month alongside the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce,” Visit Fort Worth President and CEO Bob Jameson said. “Partners from across the city have come together to celebrate the cultural institutions, restaurants and western heritage groups that keep Fort Worth’s Hispanic heritage thriving today.”

We’ve rounded up a list of events occurring across the city to share with your viewers. Click here for a list of scheduled events.

    The Mattress Factory

A Fort Worth Original Since 1896! Harry Keeton, Sr., began selling mattress supplies in Fort Worth, Texas, back in 1896. Little did he know that this was the beginning of what was later to become the fastest growing chain of factory direct sleep stores. His two sons, Harry and Frank took over the business and expanded into Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, Arizona, and California; shipping furniture and mattress supplies all over the world. Four generations later, Peter Duncan, Jr., realized that there was a need for Factory Direct Marketing and began selling his products directly to the consumer at wholesale prices. This concept has spread like wildfire. Public acceptance has been overwhelming. This great demand has caused the Mattress Factory to become a leader in the industry. Our production exceeds 10000 pieces manufactured each year. Our buying power, along with the "no middleman" concept give maximum savings, which are passed along to the customer... you! When you purchase from the Original Mattress Factory you save 50% off the purchase price at a retail store. Mention Tanglewood Moms and receive 10% off! 800-211-7378 toll free 817-334-0361 (local Fort Worth)
