Summertime Fun in the Fort
The homestretch of summer is here! Back-to-school activities are gearing up as well as our enthusiasm for the fall days ahead. With that in mind, we know the sweltering heat of Texas may leave us less than inspired to plan something fun, but, as always, we’re here to do the creative sourcing for you! APHA “All Day Breakaway” Roping Competition at the Cowtown Coliseum

The American Paint Horse Association’s APHA series is committed to the growth of the sport and spirit of competition, featuring hundreds of the finest riders in the region. This event begins at 9 am and is free and open to the public.
Sunday Funday at Panther Island Pavilion
August 1 – September 5
‘Sunday Funday’ is a recurring day of relaxation and fun at the Panther Island Pavilion beach. This is a perfect way to relax and keep cool for some fun in the sun! Tubes and pedal boats will be available for rent along with kayaks, paddleboards, and canoes from Backwoods Paddlesports. Cold beer and loaner ice chests are also available. Car Seats for Cowtown – 5K RACE | Cops for Kids

Fort Worth Cops for Kids is pleased to be hosting a car seat drive and 5K run/walk on Saturday August 14, 2021, at the famous Shack located at Panther Island Pavilion. Additionally, there will be food trucks, a live band, drinks, and fun family activities. They will also be accepting car seat donations which will be given to the community and stored at several Police stations so that officers can give them to families in need. Gretta Hendricks is a multidisciplinary creative who has been a chocolatier, baker, birth-doula, performance artist, and freelance writer, although her favorite job to-date has been becoming a first-time mama to her beautiful rainbow baby, Ofelia, born in January of 2020. Gretta has enjoyed writing for as long as she can remember and is passionately interested in the ways she can both learn and share from the art of storytelling.
